Joseph A. Bocchini Jr., M.D., FAAP, of Shreveport, La., recently received the Distinguished Service Honor Award from the Shreveport Medical Society.

Dr. Bocchini is chair of the AAP Committee on Infectious Diseases, professor and chair of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Shreveport's Department of Pediatrics and medical director of the center's Children's Hospital.

The award recognized Dr. Bocchini's contributions to pediatric research and education, particularly related to infectious diseases.
